Tasting @GloriaFerrer 2008 Carneros Chardonnay #tl_wine #gloriaferrer #wine

With it’s color yellow, not light as straw but not gold, this wine is a very interesting $18 white wine. With grapes 100% from Carneros, California, this wine has a nose of pear and vanilla. The palate is light, with a nice warm spice and toast, but not overwhelming. There’s a really nice bit of acidity, which comes across as citrus notes mixed with the pear and apple that take a back seat. There is good fruit, nice toast, and it’s a good wine. I see this as a seafood wine, whether grilled shrimp or grilled fish, this wine will pair nicely. It’ll work nicely with grilled chicken too, but I’d go for the fish.
