Tasting @RSVineyards Chalk Hill 2009 Chardonnay #TL_wine #rsvineyards #wine
A light straw color in the glass, with a tinge of green. The nose is very fruit forward, pears and apples fresh from the tree. The palate is crisper, leaner and more fruit forward than the other chardonnays from tonight’s tasting. There seems to be a light oak treatment, when in fact it’s 86% oak, a mix of new and older. There is also good acidity that brings in green apple notes, and for $20, it’s definitely worth the price. I noticed that when it warmed in the glass from 55 degrees to 60, the palate gets a bit fuller and the spice and vanilla from the oak comes through. Still, a well made wine
