Tasting Henri Plasse 2009 Brouilly #Beaujolais (Pic+Notes)
The Henri Plasse 2009 Brouilly is a Cru Beaujolais made from 100% gamay grape. It has a dark fruit bouquet, with muted fruit notes of black cherry and dark berries on the palate. There’s a vein of spice and smoke that is intertwined with the fruit, and this is much more old world than other gamay wines I’ve had. There’s an earthy quality that reminds me of other Burgundy wines, and yearns for a steak, sausage, or pork on the grill.
