What I’m drinking: Alta Colina 2009 12 o’clock high (pix+notes)

P216
A fantastic white wine from Paso Robles, CA. A great expression of Rhone whites coming from the US, and only $28. The bouquet is soft white flowers, honey, ad baking spice. There are tones of yellow raisin and yellow apple as well.

The palate is medium weight, with delicious white flowers and a honeyed taste and texture. Light notes of apricot and peach mingle with the summer flowers It has a slight oily palate but in a favorable way. There is a vein of spice on the finish that warms the tongue and throat, balancing the lighter floral and fruit notes.

I’m a fan.
